Seasonal Chef - Temporary (Oct-Jan)
Laylocks Garden Centre – Restaurant
Tuesday–Friday: 9am–4pm
Alternate Weekends: Saturday 8am–4pm, Sunday 8:30am–4pm
Day off: Monday

We’re hiring a Seasonal Chef to support our busy kitchen team over the Christmas period.
This is a temporary role to help maintain smooth kitchen operations and service during one of our busiest times of the year.

Key Responsibilities

Tuesday–Friday (9am–4pm):

Assist the kitchen team with prep and service

Support food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness

Work under the direction of senior chefs

Alternate Weekends:

Lead the kitchen during service (Saturday 8am–4pm, Sunday 8:30am–4pm)

Oversee food prep, cooking, plating, and service

Ensure quality and consistency
-
Manage the kitchen in the absence of the head chef

Contract Details

Fixed shift pattern with alternate weekends

No split shifts

Monday off every week

Ideal Candidate

Previous experience in a professional kitchen

Confident running a small kitchen during busy periods

Comfortable working solo or as part of a team

Reliable, organised, and calm under pressure

Food hygiene certificate is a plus
