We are on the hunt for a bookkeeper, who is well equipped and has a lot of experience with Xero accounting software, to join our family run business. This is an exciting opportunity to join due to the growth of the company over the last few years with many future developments to come!


Job Description

  • Reconciliation of the weekly takings with till and credit card reports;

  • Processing of weekly payroll on Xero and booking/monitoring holiday allowances and absences, submission of returns to HMRC, nest pension payments and posting journals;

  • Bank reconciliation

  • Checking and processing purchase orders, deliveries, purchase invoices, bank transactions, and weekly/monthly journals on Xero;

  • Monitoring and checking supplier statements and payment dates, reporting and checking supplier payment runs, issuing remittance advices via Xero;

  • Producing weekly and monthly reports for management as required;

  • Checking and submitting quarterly VAT returns.


Essential requirements:

Candidates should have:

  • A good level of bookkeeping experience;

  • A good level of experience on Xero accounting software (no less that two years experience);

  • A good level of Xero Payroll (no less than a years experience)

  • A good level of processing payroll with irregular hours;

  • A good level of VAT knowledge;

You must have all of the above skills and to be able to work efficiently & independently 


Desired requirements:

Ideally candidates will also have:

  • Experience with producing basic monthly financial reports;

  • A working knowledge of EPOS systems;

  • Experience of working in a retail environment;


Hours 18hour Contract

Tuesday 9am -3:30pm (30min lunch break not paid)
Wednesday 9am - 3:30pm (30min lunch break not paid)

Thursday 9am - 3:30pm (30min lunch break not paid)

Part-time hours: 18 per week
